What you will be able to defend

  • Select and justify benchmarks when profit is volatile or near break-even.
  • Set performance materiality that cascades into substantive sampling.
  • Document qualitative factors that lower thresholds for KPI-sensitive items.
  • Assess aggregation risk across deferred revenue, contract assets, and credits.
  • Write a materiality memo that survives cold EQCR review without template fluff.

Modules

Eleven weeks, six critiqueable artifacts

  1. Digital firm economics for auditors

Recurring revenue, capitalization policies, and why textbook profit benchmarks mislead.

  2. Benchmark selection workshops

Revenue, gross margin, total assets, and hybrid anchors with Korean case packets.

  3. Overall vs performance materiality

Cascades into accounts, and how to avoid silent double-cutting.

  4. Qualitative overlays

Related parties, covenants, regulatory attention, and management bonuses tied to metrics.

  5. Clearly trivial thresholds

When small credits still warrant communication—and when they do not.

  6. Aggregation and offsetting

Contract assets, refund liabilities, and platform rebates that travel in packs.

  7. Memo studio

Draft, peer redline, facilitator critique, final version for your methodology partner.

FAQ

Practical limits before you enroll

Do I need ISA 320 familiarity already?

Yes. This is not an introduction to auditing standards. If you are new to materiality concepts, read your firm’s methodology chapter first; otherwise week two will feel compressed.

Can I use live client data?

Only sanitized extracts. We reject submissions with identifiable customer names, unredacted contract IDs, or personal data.

What is a real limitation of this course?

We do not certify that your firm’s methodology is ISA-compliant, and we cannot attend your EQCR meetings. Graduates still need internal approval before changing firm-wide thresholds.

Is the Cloud Billing Sampling Lab separate?

It is bundled in Working Papers and Engagement Desk. Field Guide learners can add it later by contacting us.

Varied notes from recent cohorts

Memo studio feedback on my qualitative overlays section was sharper than our internal training. I still skimmed the economics primer—too basic if you already live in SaaS audits.

Aggregation module paid for itself during a marketplace rebate review. Rating not perfect because evening labs collided with inventory count season.

Busan-based senior. Benchmark workshop examples matched the agency groups I serve more than the Seoul unicorn cases.
